BASIC Expert conducted a risk assessment to determine the likelihood and consequence of fire spread through installed combustible cladding on the building and proposed a risk mitigation strategy involving removal and replacement of sections of ACP while retaining timber cladding. A successful application to BAB was made under s 160(2)(b) of the Building Act 1993 (the Act) to modify clause 3.1(b) of Specification C1.1 of the Building Code of Australia 2006 – Volume One (‘the BCA’) of a Class 2, 6, and 7a building.
